Manhattan Printing Services
VSL Print is a family-owned commercial printer founded in 2009, running offset, digital, large format, and bindery under one roof. Because nothing is handed off to an outside vendor, we can offer genuine rush turnaround on a wide range of products and hold tight, repeatable color from one run to the next. Whether you need a single box of business cards before a meeting or a high-volume catalog for a national rollout, the same Manhattan team handles prepress, press, and finishing.
Choosing the Right Print Method in Manhattan
The first decision on any job is digital versus offset. Digital printing is built for speed and shorter runs: there are no plates to make, so a few hundred flyers, a fresh box of business cards, or a variable-data mailer with personalized names can move from approved PDF to finished piece fast. Offset is where longer runs become more economical and color gets even more precise; once plates are made, the per-piece cost drops, so catalogs, magazines, annual reports, and large brochure runs typically print offset on a schedule we confirm with your quote. For wide pieces, our large format department prints banners, posters, window graphics, and signage up to 16 feet wide on a fast turnaround. When a deadline is tight, ask about rush options, our in-house workflow is what makes them possible.
Paper, Stock, and Ink
Stock choice changes how a piece feels in the hand and how color reads on the page. For cards and heavier collateral we keep 14pt and 16pt C2S (coated two sides) stocks on hand, along with 100lb gloss and matte text and cover for brochures and booklets. Uncoated and linen stocks give a warmer, more tactile result for invitations, stationery, and luxury retail work, while heavier uncoated covers suit menus and hospitality pieces. Color is printed in standard CMYK process, and when a brand depends on an exact hue we match named Pantone (PMS) spot colors. Our G7 calibration means gray balance and tonality are held to a known standard, so a reprint three months from now matches the run you approved today.
Finishing and Bindery
Finishing is what separates a competent print from a memorable one, and all of it happens in our Manhattan bindery. Soft-touch, gloss, and matte lamination protect a sheet and change its texture; spot UV adds a glossy, raised accent over a matte field; and foil stamping and embossing bring metallic shine and dimension to logos and covers. Die-cutting produces custom shapes, rounded corners, and pocket folders, while scoring and folding keep heavy stocks crisp. Multi-page work is saddle-stitched for thinner booklets or perfect-bound for catalogs, programs, and lookbooks with a square spine. Keeping bindery in-house means tight jobs don't lose days waiting on an outside finisher.
Preparing Your Files
The smoothest jobs start with a clean, print-ready PDF: images at 300 DPI, fonts embedded or outlined, artwork in CMYK with any spot colors clearly named, and 0.125" of bleed plus a safe margin on anything that runs to the edge. We also accept native InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop files. Every file is preflighted before it goes to press, and if something is low resolution, missing a font, or set in RGB, our in-house team flags it and can correct it rather than letting it surface as a surprise on the finished sheet. A quick proof, digital or a physical hard proof for color-critical work, confirms everything before we commit a run.
Who We Print For in Manhattan
Midtown and the surrounding neighborhoods send us a steady mix of work. Wall Street and Financial District firms order pitch books, financial reports, and presentation folders on tight, confidential timelines. Fifth Avenue and SoHo luxury retailers need lookbooks, hang tags, packaging inserts, and window graphics that hold exact brand color. Broadway and off-Broadway productions print posters, programs, and lobby signage; Chelsea galleries order exhibition cards and large format prints; and restaurants across the borough refresh menus and table collateral on short notice. Agencies, startups, and event teams lean on us for trade-show banners, step-and-repeats, branded stationery, and rush reprints when plans change the morning of an event. The common thread is a need for fast, dependable production from a printer that stays inside Manhattan. Alongside those larger campaigns, firms across the borough count on us for business card printing in NYC every time a team grows or a title changes.

For quick jobs like business cards, flyers, and a few posters, we can often print and finish quickly if you arrive with a print-ready PDF. Yes. We run production in-house and offer rush courier delivery throughout Manhattan, especially on digital orders. Because offset, digital, large format, and bindery all live under one roof, we don't hand work to outside vendors, which is what makes true rush turnaround on cards, flyers, and signage realistic.
A print-ready PDF is ideal: built at 300 DPI for images, with fonts embedded or outlined, art set in CMYK (or with named Pantone spot colors flagged), and 0.125" bleed plus a safe margin on anything that prints to the edge. We can also work from native InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop files. If a file isn't quite right, our in-house team can preflight and correct it before it hits the press.
Common choices include 14pt and 16pt C2S card stock, 100lb gloss and matte text and cover, and uncoated and linen stocks for a softer feel. Finishing options handled in-house include soft-touch, gloss, and matte lamination, spot UV, foil stamping, embossing, die-cutting, scoring, and saddle-stitch or perfect binding. We keep house stocks on hand for fast jobs and can source specialty papers for branded work.
Yes. As a G7-calibrated shop we hold consistent, predictable color across reprints and across digital and offset, which matters for brand standards on recurring corporate runs. We handle everything from a single business-card box to high-volume catalogs, financial reports, event collateral, and retail signage, with offset for long runs and digital for fast or variable-data jobs.
We're open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM. For rush and after-hours arrangements on time-sensitive projects, call (646) 843-0800 and we'll work out pickup or delivery timing around your deadline.
