Large Format Printing in NYC, Produced In-House
Large format covers any graphic too big for a standard press sheet: banners, billboards, in-store displays, rigid signage, vehicle and fleet wraps, window and floor graphics, and full building wraps. At VSL Print, a family-owned New York City shop founded in 2009 and based at 239 West 29th Street, every one of those jobs is printed, laminated, mounted, and finished under one roof. We ship and install nationwide, and keeping production in-house means we control color, timing, and quality from the first proof through the final installed piece, with no hand-offs to outside vendors.
Our HP Latex 560 and 830W roll-to-roll printers handle oversized banners and wraps up to 60" wide with effectively unlimited length, while a Fuji Acuity L flatbed prints rigid substrates up to 5' x 10' directly, and a Zünd robotic cutter trims and contour-cuts finished pieces up to the same 5' x 10' footprint. The water-based latex inks cure instantly, so prints can be laminated, trimmed, and shipped right away instead of off-gassing overnight like solvent inks. They are odorless and low-emission, which makes them safe for hospitals, schools, restaurants, and other interiors, while still carrying a 3-5 year outdoor rating straight off the printer. White-ink capability lets us print opaque graphics on clear, colored, or backlit substrates so artwork holds its intended color instead of letting the surface show through.
Because we also run offset and digital presses alongside our large format equipment, a single campaign — a step-and-repeat backdrop, matching pull-up banners, printed collateral, and an oversized facade graphic — can come from one G7-calibrated source with the brand colors matched across every piece. That makes us a practical fit for retail rollouts, Broadway and event productions, Wall Street firms, real estate developments, museums, and any project that needs to scale from a business card to a building.

Professional Installation
Our experienced installation team handles projects across NYC and the Tri-State area, and we coordinate national installs anywhere the job takes us. From window graphics to full building wraps, we ensure your graphics look perfect and last for years.
- Licensed and insured crews
- Scaffolding and lift access
- After-hours installation available
- Permit coordination when needed
Finishing & Mounting
The right finishing is what turns a printed sheet into a durable, hangable graphic. We hem and grommet vinyl banners on standard centers, add reinforced pole pockets for street and parking-lot banners, and weld seams on oversized pieces so they hold tension without tearing.
- Gloss, matte, and anti-graffiti overlaminates
- Hemming, grommets, pole pockets, and wind slits
- Mounting to foam board, Gatorboard, and PVC
- Contour cutting and kiss-cutting for decals
- Standoffs, frames, and hardware for rigid signs
File Preparation
Clean files keep large jobs on schedule. Vector formats — PDF, AI, or EPS — are best because they scale to any size without softening, and they make panel seams and contour cuts predictable. For photographic artwork, supply TIFF or high-quality JPEG built at 100-150 DPI at final size; web images at 72 DPI will look sharp on screen but pixelate when blown up.
- Build files in CMYK, not RGB, for predictable color
- Include 0.25" bleed plus grommet or pocket allowance
- Outline fonts or package linked images and fonts
- Set artwork at final size, or to scale at 1:10
- Flag any Pantone match so we can target it on press
Not print-ready? Our prepress team can resize, repair, and proof your files, and our designers can build artwork from scratch. We provide a PDF or hard proof on request before anything goes to the printer.

Large Format Printing NYC
Large Format Printing in NYC — Shipped & Installed Nationwide
Large format printing covers everything too big for a standard press — the formats that turn a storefront, a lobby, a trade-show booth, or an entire building facade into a brand statement. At VSL Print we produce the full range of large formats for New York City: vinyl banners, foam-board and rigid signs, posters, window graphics, retractable and tension-fabric displays, backlit prints, floor and wall graphics, trade-show backdrops, and building and vehicle wraps. If it needs to be printed large and read from across a room or across the street, we make it.
Color is what makes large-format work land, so every job runs through our G7-calibrated production process for consistent, saturated color that matches your brand from the first panel to the last. Our HP Latex 560 and 830W roll-to-roll printers lay down vivid, durable color up to 60" wide on dozens of substrates, our Fuji Acuity L flatbed prints rigid pieces up to 5' x 10', and a Zünd robotic cutter finishes them to precise shapes at that same size. Because color management is shared across our offset, digital, and large-format output, a banner, a brochure, and a business card from the same brand all match. For multi-panel formats like building wraps, we tile the artwork and align the seams so the finished piece reads as one continuous image.
Many large-format projects start with design rather than a print-ready file, so our in-house design and prepress team can build artwork to scale, adapt an existing brand kit, or fix files that are not set up for large output. Campaigns that begin as a rough sketch go through large format design first, where artwork is built at scale with seams, substrates, and viewing distance in mind. Once printed, we handle finishing, delivery, and professional installation across the five boroughs — and we ship completed work and coordinate installs nationwide when a campaign reaches beyond the city. We mount, hang, and wrap on site, schedule around building access and permits, and take the piece down when a campaign ends. Keeping print, finishing, and install under one team is what keeps a rollout on deadline.
New York City retail, corporate, hospitality, real-estate, and event brands use our large-format service for the moments that have to make an impression: a flagship window takeover, a lobby environmental graphic, a conference stage set, a construction-site building wrap, or a fleet of branded vehicles. Real-estate developers use us for hoarding and renderings, retailers for seasonal point-of-sale, and agencies for experiential builds. With years of experience producing large-format work for demanding NYC brands, we know how the city's timelines, venues, and permits actually work.
Indoor or outdoor, we match the material and lamination to the environment — UV-stable inks and overlaminates for graphics that face the weather, repositionable films for interiors, and anti-slip laminates for floors. Whether you need a single retractable banner tomorrow or a coordinated citywide campaign, send your files or request a free quote, and we will recommend the formats, materials, and install plan that fit the project and the deadline.

Our HP Latex 560 and 830W roll-to-roll printers handle up to 60" wide with virtually unlimited length, and our Fuji Acuity L flatbed prints rigid substrates up to 5' x 10'. For graphics beyond a single print run, such as multi-story building wraps, we panel the artwork into sections and align the seams so they read as a single continuous image from normal viewing distance.
Yes. Our installation team handles everything from window graphics and wall murals to full building wraps throughout NYC and the Tri-State area, and we coordinate national installs anywhere the job takes us. Crews are licensed and insured, and we handle scaffolding, lift access, after-hours scheduling, and permits when a project calls for it.
Our outdoor-rated inks are rated for 3-5 years of outdoor exposure without lamination. Adding a UV overlaminate extends life to 7+ years and adds abrasion and scratch resistance. Actual lifespan depends on sun exposure, substrate, and orientation: south-facing installations fade faster, and cast vinyl outlasts calendered vinyl on curved or textured surfaces.
We confirm the production schedule with your quote once artwork is approved. Because offset, digital, large format, and finishing all run in-house, we can offer rush options on most banner, poster, and rigid-sign orders. Wraps and installed signage are scheduled around site surveys and crew availability.
For large format work we recommend building files at 100-150 DPI at final print size, not the 300 DPI used for small-format offset. Because banners and signs are viewed from a distance, that resolution prints crisp while keeping files manageable. Billboards and building wraps viewed from far away can drop to 50-72 DPI. Vector art (PDF, AI, EPS) is ideal because it scales to any size with no quality loss.
Include at least 0.25 inch of bleed on posters and rigid signs, and add pole-pocket or grommet allowance on banners as needed. Build files in CMYK rather than RGB so colors print predictably, and convert spot colors to process unless a specific Pantone match is required. As a G7-calibrated shop, we calibrate to a known gray balance so brand colors stay consistent across reprints and across offset, digital, and large format output.
