Printing Services
Commercial Printing Services in NYC
Beyond printing, VSL Print offers complete finishing, binding, design, and installation services. From foil stamping to hardcover binding to signage installation across NYC — everything under one roof, all done in-house for quality control and faster turnaround. Because offset, digital, large-format, bindery, and finishing all live under the same roof, your job never leaves our hands, never waits in a trade-shop queue, and never gets handed off to a vendor we can't stand behind. We are a G7-calibrated, family-owned shop founded in 2009, and that single-roof model is how we hold rush deadlines that most printers have to outsource.

How It Works
Process, Materials & File Prep
A quick look at how a job moves through our shop, the stocks and finishes we keep on hand, and how to set up files so they print right the first time.
From file to finished piece
Every project starts with a preflight check: we confirm bleeds, resolution, color space, fonts, and trim marks before anything goes to plate or press. Offset jobs are printed on sheetfed presses with G7-calibrated color, which keeps gray balance and tonal response consistent from your proof to the final run and across reprints. Shorter runs, variable-data pieces, and fast-turn reprints go to our digital presses, where there is no plate cost and we can start a job within hours. Large-format work — banners, posters, displays, and signage — is printed on wide-format inkjet using UV-cure or latex inks rated for indoor and outdoor use.
Finishing & bindery in-house
Once sheets are printed, they move straight to finishing and bindery without leaving the building. Cutting, folding, scoring, perforating, drilling, foil stamping, embossing, die cutting, laminating, and binding all happen here, so a job that needs offset printing, spot UV, and perfect binding is handled by one team on one schedule. That is the difference that lets us offer rush service: there is no shipping time between vendors and no finger-pointing if something needs a correction.
Stocks, inks & coatings
We run a wide range of paper stocks: coated gloss, silk, and matte sheets from roughly 80 lb text up through 130 lb cover, uncoated and writing stocks for a natural tactile feel, and heavy boards for packaging, folders, and premium cards. Soft-touch, suede, linen, and felt finishes are available where a job calls for texture. Standard printing uses CMYK process inks; we also match Pantone spot colors for brand-critical work, and add metallic or fluorescent inks when a piece needs them. Protective and decorative coatings include aqueous, gloss and matte UV, spot UV, and gloss, matte, or soft-touch lamination.
Setting up your files
For the cleanest result, supply press-ready PDFs with fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 DPI for print and a minimum 150 DPI for large format, and 0.125" of bleed on every edge that runs off the page. Build artwork in CMYK and call out any Pantone spot colors by name. For die cuts, foil, embossing, and spot UV, include a separate vector layer marked as a spot color so we know exactly where each effect lands. If your files aren't ready, our in-house design team can preflight, correct, or build them from scratch.

Commercial Printing Services
Full-Service Printing in New York City
VSL Print is a full-service Midtown printer, providing everything a job needs — from design and printing through finishing, binding, and installation — all in-house. Because every service is in-house, a project never waits on an outside vendor, which is how we hold fast rush turnarounds that most NYC shops cannot.
The services we offer cover the full lifecycle of a printed piece: graphic and prepress design; digital, offset, and large-format printing; finishing like foil stamping, embossing, soft-touch lamination, spot UV, and die-cutting; binding from saddle-stitch to perfect and hardcover; direct mail; and professional installation of signs and displays. Whatever the product — business cards, brochures, catalogs, banners, signs, or packaging — the same team handles it start to finish.
We keep turnaround tight. Standard products move quickly when files arrive early, and most finishing and bindery work follows close behind the press run. Our prepress team checks every order the moment it arrives and flags anything that could slow the job, so a fix does not cost you the deadline. We are open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM.
Keeping design, print, finishing, binding, and install under one roof is what separates a full-service printer from a broker. There are no hand-offs and no shipping delays between vendors, and one team is accountable for color, schedule, and quality from start to finish. It also means we can combine services on a single order — a foil-stamped business card, a perfect-bound catalog, and an installed lobby sign can all come from the same shop, matched to the same brand standard.
From global brands to local studios, we have helped NYC companies of every size get printed work produced, finished, and installed on time. Every order runs through our G7 color standards color process, so the color you approve on a proof is the color you get on press and again on the reprint.
Common projects we finish and bind every day include perfect-bound catalogs and lookbooks, saddle-stitched programs and booklets, foil-stamped and embossed business cards, die-cut packaging, laminated signs, and direct-mail campaigns. Designers and marketing teams order from us when a piece needs more than printing — when it has to be designed, finished, bound, and delivered as one coordinated job, often within hours of approval. Tell us what the project needs, request a quote, and our team will start the work and recommend the finishing, binding, and installation that fit the deadline.
If you are not sure which service your project needs, send the files or a description and request a free quote, and we will lay out the fastest, most cost-effective path — from the first proof to the final installed sign.

Yes. Offset, digital, large-format, bindery, and finishing all run in-house. A job that needs printing, foil stamping, and perfect binding stays with one accountable team from start to finish, which is how we keep quality consistent and turnaround fast.
Offset printing uses metal plates and ink on a sheetfed press; it delivers the most consistent color and the best per-unit cost on larger runs, and it supports Pantone spot colors and a wide range of stocks. Digital printing has no plate cost, so it is faster and more economical for short runs, reprints, and variable-data jobs like personalized mailers. We help you pick the right method based on quantity, color needs, and deadline.
Supply a press-ready PDF with fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 DPI (150 DPI minimum for large format), and 0.125 inches of bleed on every edge that runs off the page. Build artwork in CMYK and name any Pantone spot colors. For die cutting, foil, embossing, or spot UV, include a separate vector layer set as a spot color to mark where each effect goes. If your files are not ready, our design team can preflight or build them.
We stock coated gloss, silk, and matte papers, uncoated and writing stocks, and heavy boards for packaging and premium cards, typically ranging from about 80 lb text to 130 lb cover and up. Coatings include aqueous, gloss and matte UV, spot UV, and gloss, matte, or soft-touch lamination. Specialty textures like linen, felt, and suede are available on request.
Yes. Because all production is in-house, we can offer rush service on many jobs. Turnaround depends on the quantity, the printing method, and which finishing or binding steps are involved, so contact us with your specs and deadline and we will confirm what is achievable.
There is no fixed minimum. Digital printing makes small runs and one-offs practical, while offset becomes more cost-effective as quantities grow into the thousands. We handle everything from a short run of business cards to large catalog, mailer, and signage orders. Tell us your quantity and we will recommend the most economical method.
Yes. We provide PDF soft proofs for layout and content approval, and hard-copy or press proofs when color accuracy is critical. Our presses are G7-calibrated, so the approved proof is a reliable predictor of the printed result and of any future reprints.
Yes. Design, prepress, offset and digital printing, large format, and the full bindery and finishing line all run in-house. Keeping every step in-house means fewer handoffs, tighter quality control, faster turnaround, and a single point of accountability — your job never leaves our hands between approval and shipping.
We can. We retain your print-ready files and press settings, and because our workflow is G7-calibrated, reprints match the original run closely — even months later or when switching between digital and offset. Just reference your previous order and let us know the quantity you need.
