Agencies and studios don't print like everyone else. A deck needs to be in a client's hands tomorrow morning, a brand book has to match a logo's exact Pantone across every touchpoint, and a portfolio has to feel as considered as the work inside it. VSL Print is a family-owned NYC shop founded in 2009, running offset, digital, large format, and bindery under one roof. Keeping every step in-house is what lets us turn creative work around quickly without handing color or finishing off to a third party.
Most agency jobs start as a print-ready PDF. We prefer PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-4 built in CMYK with spot colors named correctly, fonts embedded or outlined, images at 300 PPI for offset, and a 1/8" bleed with crop marks. Every file runs through a preflight check before it touches a plate, so RGB elements, low-resolution placements, missing bleed, and unflattened transparency get caught and corrected up front rather than discovered on press. When a piece involves foil, spot UV, an emboss, or a die cut, we ask for those specials on their own spot-color layer set to overprint so each process routes cleanly. If the artwork needs more than a preflight fix, you can lean on our graphic design services to rebuild it print-ready.

For photographic lookbooks and decks, coated silk and matte sheets hold fine detail and deep blacks. Heavy covers from 100 lb up to 130 lb double-thick, plus 32 pt duplexed boards, give business cards and leave-behinds real weight in the hand. Finishing happens in the same building: foil stamping in metallic and holographic foils, raised and flat spot UV, soft-touch and matte lamination, blind and registered embossing, edge painting, and precision die cutting.
Color consistency is where agency work usually lives or dies. We hold Pantone spot inks and build custom ICC profiles per stock, and our G7 color calibration keeps gray balance and tone curves aligned from one run to the next. That means a brand color reprinted months apart, across a coated lookbook, an uncoated manual, and a large-format banner, still reads as the same color. For critical work we provide color-accurate contract proofs that reliably predict the press sheet, so sign-off is sign-off.
Turnaround & Working With Us
Creative timelines rarely cooperate. Digital presentations and simple collateral can run on a rush schedule, while case-bound portfolio books and multi-process pieces take longer depending on finishing. Rush options are available when a pitch moves up. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM, and because production is fully in-house, a designer can come in to approve a press sheet, check a foil, or feel a stock before the full run commits.
